Farm inputs were provided to 60 cassava growers in the three senatorial districts of Edo State on Thursday by the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security in partnership with the Agricultural Development Project in Edo State. Chemicals, NPK fertilizers, and cassava cuttings are among the inputs that were delivered, according to the News Agency of Nigeria.
As he announced the distribution of the inputs, the ministry’s Edo State Coordinator, Dr. Samuel Owoicho, stated that the goal of the minister’s efforts was to raise rural incomes and guarantee community food security. Owoicho stated that the ministry’s and the Edo State Ministry of Agriculture’s cooperative efforts, through their agricultural development program, made the gesture possible.
As everyone is aware, cassava is a crucial crop for our area; the inputs would help to ensure food security while also giving many farmers a means of subsistence. These days, the distribution of cassava is an investment in the success and well-being of our farming community rather than just a basic supply of planting materials.

According to the state coordinator, systematic random sampling was used to choose the farmers from the ministry’s database of farms. He advised the farmers to improve the quality of their farm goods by using pesticides, fertilizers, and cassava cuttings.
